As a medical student, I walk into the pottery studio on a month period while studying for a board exam. I made a cylindrical vase that has two circular sections and a wide rim; I was instantly connected to shaping a form from my brain into my hands, then into the piece. Like our anatomy, which has a form and a function, I feel that connected to my ceramic work, a form and a function.

I am always challenging myself to come up with unique forms and allow my usually scientific and calculating brain to try something wild or interesting or fleeting.
